While looking at Keto recipes, I’ve come across, Chocolate Avocado Cookies and chocolate mug cakes but until recently nothing has really moved me to action. But during this holiday season, I was skimming Mark Sisson’s Keto Reset book and I decide to take a stab at his avocado, chocolate mousse recipe.

Sisson’s Chocolate Avocado Mousse recipe requires heavy cream and cream cheese. But throughout my Keto journey, I’ve learned some things … like I really should stay away from dairy.

Though I love cheese and heavy cream, it’s really not my friend. So, at this portion of my journey, I’ve moved further and further from keto recipes that use heavy cream or cream cheese. Instead, I use coconut cream, coconut milk or almond milk as a substitute to those other dairy products.

There are some great elements to this recipe. It’s really easy to make and there are only a couple of ingredients. The avocado and coconut milk makes it super smooth and rich. And the cocoa powder creates the super-rich chocolate flavor to the forefront. If you typically find cocoa powder to be too bitter, you may want to add a bit more sweetener.
