Spicy Shrimp and Grits

This spicy shrimp and grits recipe was very necessary after a hectic weekend. I needed a little reminder of my vacay with the ladies. A while ago my friends and I headed down to New Orleans for some good food and music. And that was just what New Orleans delivered. I couldn’t have asked for better food or a better time. It was just what I needed. No matter where we were, whether in a restaurant or a friend’s home, everything was delicious. So with the hectic weekend we’ve had and no sign of a break in sight, I’m missing New Orleans. Just a little.

Shakshuka – One Pot Spicy Tomato and Eggs

Sometimes I don’t get to have breakfast until the early afternoon. Of course, the issue with that is then I can’t decided whether I want breakfast or lunch. Does that ever happen to you? And you just can’t choose. Well, shakshuka solves all of these problems. The eggs give you that breakfast feel, but the spicy tomato sauce has that late night comfort feel to it.

Mussels Fra Diavolo

I understand that I am impartial but the east coast has some of the best Italian restaurants. One dish I’ve fallen in love with is seafood Fra Diavolo. A friend ordered it at one of those chain restaurants and it was delicious. A pleasant surprise. Of course, in the end I was happy she shared with me. I have a bad habit of not trying anything new when I go out to restaurants. Who likes paying for food they’re disappointed with. Baked Buffalo Chicken Wings

It’s National Chicken Wing Day! I considered writing that all in caps because I am actually that excited. Now, I have to be honest, when I want wings I typically just go to my favorite happy hour restaurant or open a bag. But I decided to make them myself. It’s for the blog you know… not for selfish reasons at all. On a day like today I just couldn’t help myself, buffalo chicken wings are absolutely delicious.
