The Goodies on the Smoothie

So, what makes this smoothie perfect for breakfast. It filled with tons of protein, potassium from the bananas and healthy fats from the avocado.

Personally, I push for protein and healthy fats in the morning. It’s how we were able to finally get our littles on the growth chart.

Smoothie Mustache

Having protein and healthy fats in the morning is good for the brain. It also help keep the littles fuller longer (which is a feat during growth spurts). Our littles get up at about 6:30 – 7:00 in the morning. There are a lot of hours in between 7 and 11:30 (lunch time). It makes me feel good to know that I’m feeding them something that’ll kick start those brains and keep them satiated.

And come on … what kid doesn’t want to go to school and say i had a milkshake for breakfast?

Recipe Notes: No avocado. No problem. Depending on the time of year it can be difficult to get ripe avocados. Instead use a room temperature banana or but butter.

If you plan ahead of time to make this smoothie, you won’t need to purchase ripe avocados. If you put your unripe avocado in a paper bag with bananas the avocados will ripen within a day or two.

I used our Ninja blender to makes these smoothies. It results in 4 kid sized smoothies or 2 adult sized smoothies. If you are a family of 6 like us, I’d suggest you double to recipe.

I promise this will be your go to smoothie. The family will ask you to make it so often you might think about getting a second blender.
