Now, it might be hard to believe but I started making my own ice cream in Middle School. Yes. Middle School. I went to a school that was serious about home economics classes. Now that I think about it I feel like every year there was a different home economics or shop class to take. Any who … I learned about nutrition, how to sew, how to make a doggy bank out of wood, and so many other things. Including how to make ice cream without an ice cream maker. So for National Ice cream month I’m sharing one of my favorite methods for making ice cream. The method here is different than the first one I learned.
In middle school, we used the bag in bag method to make Oreo Cookie Ice Cream. Yum. And yes, I remember exactly what type of ice cream I made, many years ago. The bag in bag method of creating ice cream is simple and a great method to try with your family or for a party.
The ice cream recipe I’m using today is the whipping method. I like it because there are fewer steps and the ice cream comes out so smooth. With this method your blender (or whisk) will do all the hard work. Unlike with the bag in bag method where you shake it for about 5 minutes and your arms are tired and you fingers are freezing.
The whipped cream provided a creaminess you don’t get from the the bad method. And the condensed milk provides the sweetness. In the end, this creamy ice cream recipe is less than 5 ingredients and absolutely delicious. Are you ready to do this?
Recipe Notes: The colder your milk mixture is the easier and faster it will whip. You should keep your heavy cream and sweet condensed milk in the refrigerator as well as your bowl.

Then fold in chocolate chip cookies pieces.
Pour ice cream mix into an air tight container, place a piece of plastic over it and close the lid tightly.
Freeze for 6 hours or until firm.
