In our house, the meat is typically the focus of any outdoor get-together. And that’s all well and good but sometimes you need more than just meat or it doesn’t feel like a meal. Then the question is what’s the side dish. One of the recipes that’s a keeper in our house is cole slaw. And I know for many moms it’s a veggie salad you don’t have to force your littles to eat.
At one of BBQ’s at our house, my aunt was nice enough to show me her trick to making that bagged slaw taste super yummy. If you’ve bought a bag of cole slaw and that expensive slaw dressing but it still seemed like there’s something missing. Your semi-homemade coleslaw does not taste like the slaw from your favorite restaurant even though you added a creme de la creme dressing. That’s because they do a little more than just add sauce to that cabbage and carrots.
So, here how to jazz it up. And believe me, this recipe is so easy you’ll want to keep it on hand. It’s a really versatile side and it’s absolutely delicious on top of a hot dog, with some spicy chicken or with any dish that might come off of the grill in the Summer.
