Sloppy Joes were one of the lunches I actually looked forward too in school. There was something about the sweet and savory together that I really loved. And I don’t know if you can tell this about me, but I’m that type of person that really gets into her food. So I all about a dish I get to eat with my hands. No really, I get really excited about messy food. You know it’s like … just me and my meal and nothing to get in between us.
One thing I’ve noticed about my littles is that they are the same way. And it seems, the messier the better. I know it’s bad. A mess in the kitchen (yup, I make the kitchen). It’s like the more pots and pans I use while cooking the more delicious the meal will be. Does that happen to you?
No worries though, this is a one pot wonder. If you are the person who cooks and does dishes you’ll be happy with this recipe. Making a mess is fun but that’s not my train of thought any more. I’ve gotten more reasonable and my other half does the dishes, so he’s also was happy when I whip out a one pot wonder. Of course, that’s super easy to do in the pressure cooker. And though I typically think the more dishes the tastier, the pressure cooker has never let me down when it comes to delicious dishes.
So it goes without saying that these Instant Pot Sloppy Joes were a hit in my house. Not just because my kids love to be at one with their food too but because they love messy food.. Of course, that means we are typically washing children instead of dishes but hey as long as we are having fun right.
One of my favorite childhood dishes has become a favorite of my littles. Love little family shares like this. And it’s even better that I was able to toss everything in the pressure cooker and walk away. I’m all about great food and spending time with my family. Be warned, if you have little littles be prepared for it to be bath night. LOL. But who cares if everyone is enjoying themselves right?
