I first fell in love with Asian inspired wings after a long night at a Korean Fried Chicken Joint in NYC. We were there celebrating a friends birthday and I was knocked on my rear by all the layers of flavor in such a tiny piece of chicken. It was nothing like I had every experienced before. These Soy Glazed Chicken Wings are inspired by that Korean joint that packed all that flavor into a little chicken wing.
The adventure with these soy glazed chicken wings started with a family Super Bowl party. It’s not a party without wings right? And since I was making wings for a crowd, I gently seasoned a bunch of wings then marinated wings in different sauces.
One thing we realized was that chicken wings are fun for the whole family. It’s fun to come up with different variations for a dish everyone loves. I mean there are tons of wing restaurants, right? It’s also fun to watch the kids eat chicken wings.
With that in mind. I propose that chicken wings aren’t just for parties and football games. It’s great as a main course for dinner too. You can make this a complete meal by serving it with a side of jasmine rice and some garlic and ginger sauteed baby bok choy.
