The Secret to Making Your Own Custom Party Invitation
So here’s how to create your own custom party invitation.
1. Open a new Microsoft Word document.
Double click the MS Word shortcut on your desktop.
2. Microsoft Word Template
Open the Microsoft Word template options. Click “File” and then “New.” A window will appear in with the template categories for you to choose on the left panel. The right will display thumbnail previews of the templates available.
3. Select Invitations
Choose “Invitations” or “Cards and Invitations” from the templates categories. Click to open the available invitation templates.
4. Decide What Invite To Customize
Select an invitation that suits your occasion. Double-click on the selected template to open it in a new word document.
Customize the template. Depending on the template you selected, the graphics and texts will be in text boxes. Click on text to edit. Make sure all of the necessary event information is on the invitation.
You can also edit the graphics/images in the invitation. Click on it and drag it where you want or replace it with a new image.
6. Your Text and Images
To replace an image or art with your own images, click “Insert”, scroll down to “Picture from File”. Select the file image you wish to add to your invitation.
Ooooo and here’s an added bonus. If you don’t have images on your computer etc that you would like to add, there are tons on online that you can download for free. Some additional site that provide images are pixabay.com, pexels.com and unsplash.com.
Make sure you download the image to your computer and save it under a file name you’ll remember (like silly smile invite image).
7. Save Your Invitation.
Once your done designing your invitation, save it by clicking on “Save As.” Save as a Word Document. Find the folder where you would like to save the invitation. Enter the invitation name as the filename and click “Save.”
When printing your invitation you can print 2 images per page. You might also want to print your invitation on card stock. I recommend card stock white at least, 65lb to 100 pounds.
Yup, it’s that easy. So there’s no reason to not have a custom invitation for any gathering you host.
